Ann Coulter did her best to drop a bomb on the October 10 episode of "Tucker" on MSNBC. At the conclusion of her interview, Ann Coulter announced that the National Enquirer was just reporting that John Edwards had an 18-month affair while on the campaign trail. You can read the story here.
Before going any further, this allegation must be met with a healthy degree of skepticism. First of all, the story is originating from the National Enquirer, which in and of itself, raises questions as to the story's reliability. Secondly, Coulter had a notorious run-in earlier this year with Elizabeth Edwards on an MSNBC episode of "Harball." Coulter would have every motivation to repeat a salacious tabloid sex allegation about John Edwards.

No case against Coulter who merely mentioned the story even if it is false. I have trouble believing that Edwards is this stupid. However, there were links to videos on another thread.

The endless parade of anti-Edwards leaks, plants, and embarassing reports have NOT been coming from Republicans (who have no input to the Drive-By Mainstream Media). I have been saying for months that it is HILLARY planting these stories to undercut her strongest barrier, John Edwards.
The fact that Ann Coulter runs with one of these Clinton planted stories is an irrelevant diversion.
And besides, there is nothing that Edwards does that is any different from any other candidate, of either party. They all have big homes, investments, and hair stylists.
It has me in a serious funk.

i guess as a woman i can empathize with the extreme pain that an affair would cause a wife especially if it were publicized around the world — and i do have thoughts about those young Edwards children. i yearn for a return to some sense of decency.

I agree. Edwards was making points against Hillary and this story breaks. Hillary was also involved in Imus getting fired and maybe now in the odd opposition to Imus getting a new job.
BTW, Gary Hart wasn't really ruined because of his affair. He just dared the press to find something on him. And even the hardest-core leftist journalist can't resist THAT challenge.

This is a type of warfare and we’d better go for broke. No more wussy, prancing pony cadidates for me. I don’t see any truly viable candidates out there on our side. They appease too much.
