Ann Coulter did her best to drop a bomb on the October 10 episode of "Tucker" on MSNBC. At the conclusion of her interview, Ann Coulter announced that the National Enquirer was just reporting that John Edwards had an 18-month affair while on the campaign trail. You can read the story here.
Before going any further, this allegation must be met with a healthy degree of skepticism. First of all, the story is originating from the National Enquirer, which in and of itself, raises questions as to the story's reliability. Secondly, Coulter had a notorious run-in earlier this year with Elizabeth Edwards on an MSNBC episode of "Harball." Coulter would have every motivation to repeat a salacious tabloid sex allegation about John Edwards.

I thought I heard a comment from Fox News that some group had bought up most of the tabloids. They did not say it but I got the impression it was to coincide with the election year so they could control the articles coming out of them.
Anyone on the thread who turns on Ann Colter is a plant from Hillary.
Just watch them.
even if the info about an affair is true, i shudder that anyone would use it with Eliz Edwards being ill. Miz Edwards turns me off, and i dislike her tactics, but i have to draw the line at torturing her with this kind of information about her husband. hope all will take the moral high road, Republicans and/or Democrats.
Let’s see if the ambulance-chaser files a Libel/Slander suit against the Enquirer and Ann Coulter; that will go a long way as to determining if the story has legs...
No story here, keep moving.
It’s only a story if it involves a Republican.
The Pellicano brief - Hollywood, California, private Investigator Anthony Pellicano
....A good instance of that came in 1990 when Rod Lurie was researching his Los Angeles Magazine piece on how the National Enquirer gets its information. Lurie got a call from Pellicano, who identified himself as a private investigator working for the Enquirer. Indeed, as Lurie recalls, Pellicano said, "I am the Enquirer." He demanded to know the identity of Lurie's source at the tabloid. When Lurie wouldn't cooperate, Pellicano said he would find out, adding, in what Lurie termed in the article a threatening manner, "I am relentless."
Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh my!
Was it with a woman?
That world was nice when it existed. There is not even a moral high road on FR today.

I hope someone didn’t feed Ann a morsel too tasty to refuse and she bit into it only to find the hook well and truly set.
Didn’t she accuse him of being gay not that long ago?
And now she’s spreading rumors that he’s not?
Apologies to her fans, but I’ve never been able to stand her.
Yeah - with HIMSELF!
:-)
I can’t see where Edwards has any grounds to sue Ann Coulter, as all she did was mention the article in the Enquirer. The Enquirer is responsible for the story, not Ann Coulter.
I saw Anne yesterday on TV and she was NOT for Rudy. Are you saying today she changed her mind?
What was the name of the guy with whom Edwards is having this fling?
When did common sense ever enter into bringing a civil suit against a choice target?
Was it with a man or a woman? (Enquiring minds want to know!)
My thoughts precisely. True, false, nobody would like this kind of muck spewed about them on the tabloids and news. Don't be surprised if you're accused of being anti-Ann though. Frankly, she's turning me off more all the time.
