manufacturing jobs are expected to decline by more than 5% by 2014 as production moves overseas. Same goes for textile workers, such as sewing machine operators, who will see a 36% drop in employment.
How can that be? I was told that manufacturing in the US is doing great!

is doing fine.
It's just taking fewer and fewer grunts to get the job done.
Let the Chinese be the assembly line drones. Americans should concentrate on being the specialists and innovators.
i.e. Do what we always have and show the rest of the world how to get things done.
