Robbing Peter to pay for the appalling (Why the gay agenda is not just about equal rights)

After losing the large majority of battles for same-sex marriage in states and realizing that American people are still very much opposed to such homosexual unions, those who support the overall homosexual agenda have put more focus on an incremental strategy. Homosexual activists, by passing so-called federal "hate crimes" and "employment protection" laws, hope to have the same success they have had on the local and state level of using the court system and unelected bureaucrats to silence their loudest critics – Christians.

In 2001, a former construction engineer and Coast Guard reservist decided that he would rather be a woman and spent $25,000 to make that happen. Hoping to offset costs of the procedure, the newly self-made "woman" filed with the Internal Revenue Service for a tax exemption of $5,000, which the tax agency originally granted her. After further review, the IRS demanded that the money be paid since, pursuant to current law, most cosmetic surgery is not allowed.

The IRS memo on the case cited 1990 Senate legislation that set limits on the definition of cosmetic surgery, saying deductions are not allowed for "any procedure which is directed at improving the patient's appearance and doesn't meaningfully promote the proper function of the body or prevent or treat illness or disease."

Clearly, a sex change operation does not fit under any of the qualifications set forth. However, the "woman" has refused to pay the money and is suing the IRS. This is not a unique situation. Increasingly, gay advocacy groups are turning to sympathetic judges and equally amenable bureaucrats to change culture by twisting laws that were passed in name of "fairness" and "equality."

Take the case of the Ocean Grove Camp Ground in New Jersey, which was founded and has been privately owned by Methodist organization since 1870.

I dont think we are born equal. How can that be? People are not equally tall, or equally intelligent, or equally hairy.

A civilised society accords us equality in law, but thats not the same thing as “natural” rights.

Well, I think we have to start by boxing clever. The gay lobby is extremely powerful and influential and it is siezing certain words and concepts as its very own. I would suggest a strategy of appealing to the “fairness” they often cite. Is it fair that this individual is effectively asking everyone else to finance their personal lifestyle? Justifiable perhaps if they had some life-threatening illness, but not something so cosmetic.

Don’t go into diatribes about perverted lifestyles and equality - that does no good (true though it might be) and just plays into their hands (its like wrestling a pig in mud, sooner or later you realise the pig really rather enjoys it).

Try bringing to light exactly what this individual is asking the people of the USA (dont say State, people think the State is someone else, not them) to do. On the surface it sounds very reasonable, but it starts to come apart under scrutiny. This treatment costs so many million dollars? Well, we could treat so many cancer patients for that, or so many children with attention deficit disorder, or (if you really want to put the screws on) so many aids patients... And now this individual is suing - costing even more dollars which frankly could be put to much better uses. By outlining these arguments, it clearly shows just how selfish these people and lobby groups really are. They say they are asking for equality, what they are really asking for is to be treated as special cases. They are claiming superior rights to the rest of us, and THAT is what has to be brought into the open.

Thats just my ideas anyway...no doubt others have better, or even can shoot that lot down!

Good tactics, but will it be enough?
