In his reponses, Tom Tancredo was always on-point, succinct, intelligent, and commanding in his answers.
I spent years in Colorado when Tom was running the Independence Institute. He was, and still is, capable of conversing intelligently on any subject of importance to the future of the U.S.
The only thing he lacks is executive experience. But then the current occupant of The Oval Office had an abundance of executive experience and has still been unable to keep the government in check or set the priorities right.
In any case I vote in California so there is no way for me to vote strategically. My vote is not going to take California away from Rudy and give it to Mitt or Fred.
My vote is for the man who I most would like to be POTUS.
If by some miracle Tom ended up as president then even you would admit that the length and amount of cheering that would occur on FreeRepublic would be beyond imagining.
If Rudy, Mitt, or John ... or even Fred got elected, we would mostly just be saying "Whew! We sure got lucky and dodged that Hitlery bullet."
We’d probably be prudent to say it in our best “Shemp Smith in NOLA on Night of Katrina” voices.
The “dodge” may turn out to be no better than that which we avoided. Maybe even worse (especially if we do manage to retake Congress. Gridlock IS your friend!)
