I think that wars for self defense are totally allowed in Christianity as in the case of the war we are fighting now because we are fighting for our freedom, our way of life, and our lives and those of many generations to come against an islamic evil terrorist enemy who wants to annihilate us.

Are you familiar with the verses that say that all governments are set up by Jesus Christ and that includes all of those heathen and muslim and secular governments? Just food for thought.

My whole issue with the article is what President Bush said that he believes that we all worship the same God. I disagree with the President on this. The mulsim allah is not our Christian God it is a simple as that. However the President of the United States cannot say this publicly when asked the question even if he believes in his heart that this is the case. It will create a lot of problems for us with "muslim allies" who are helping us to achieve victory in this war on terror, and victory is at hand in the most important theater in this war which is Iraq. Victory is also at hand in the second most important theater which is Afghanistan.

We certainly agree that they are different Gods. Maybe you'd be patient enough to tell me what you think the middle east response would be that would be the political disaster.

The muslims believe that they worship the same God as us Christians as I explained in an earlier post on why they believe so (Post # 38). If the President tells them an the world that there allah is not our Christian God they will go crazy. Our allies in Iraq both Shia and Sunni will revolt against us, our allies in Afghanistan will revolt against us, and so will the Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians, Pakistanis, etc.... I know how Muslims think, I know it very well because I was born and lived in Lebanon for 22 years. If President Bush says something like this it will have a worse effect on them than throwing a nuclear bomb at a muslim city.

Was it Paul who mentioned something to the effect that our rulers are from God and we should obey them and obey the earthly authorities? I cannot remember in which letter he said that.
