Funny, you read the headline and first paragraph you think it was an intelligence snafu; you get to the second paragraph, though, and it appears it was the media rushing the material out that ruined the operation.

The intelligence blunder started

You are correct.

This was no "intelligence blunder."

It was MSM Treason.

If you read the second page of the linked article, strong suspicion placed on the government doing the leaking.

An investigation into who downloaded the video from our server indicated that several computers with IP addresses were registered to government agencies.

Yesterday a spokesman for the National Counterterrorism Center, Carl Kropf, denied the accusation that it was responsible for the leak. "That's just absolutely wrong. The allegation and the accusation that we did that is unfounded," he said. The spokesman for the director of national intelligence, Ross Feinstein, yesterday also denied the leak allegation. "The intelligence community and the ODNI senior leadership did not leak this video to the media," he said.

Ms. Katz said, "The government leak damaged our investigation into Al Qaeda's network. Techniques and sources that took years to develop became ineffective. As a result of the leak Al Qaeda changed their methods." Ms. Katz said she also lost potential revenue.

But you were right the first time. How did that information get to the MSM?

” Funny, you read the headline and first paragraph you think it was an intelligence snafu; you get to the second paragraph, though, and it appears it was the media rushing the material out that ruined the operation. “

What upsets me is not so much ABC letting it slip, but WHO gave it to ABC.
It had to be leaked to them by our intelligence before they could leak it to the world.

Someone had to rush it to the media. That person should pay severe consequences.

How in the hell do you blame the media here? HOW did they get the tape in the first place? That’s the question. Of course they are going to air it. Who knows if they were even told not to. That’s like blaming a dog for eating a steak you put in front of him.

There was another leak in 2004 of the fact that the ISI had Al Q’s computer guy cooperating with them. Some moron from the admin. (can’t remember who), mentioned this little fact in an interview. Al Q read the interview and stopped working with the guy. It was a HUGE deal.
