Bad choice. Not voting, or voting a third party candidate only helps the opposition. And if they think someone who differs with them on a few points isn’t better than someone who not only differs with them on every point but hates them too is not good stewardship of their vote.

It would be different if every time someone didn’t vote as a protest they took a vote away from the other side, but that’s not how it works. Failing to vote, or voting for a third party candidate is tantamount to voting for the other person. Every time I say this I get heat from those who try to explain how it’s not so, but I am not not convinced by their arguments.

No matter how much you disagree with Rudy if he’s the candidate of the party and you sit out the vote, or vote for a third party candidate, knowing full well he or she can’t win you are in essence casting a vote for the opposition.

If you don’t want to split the coalition then do not nominate Giuliani. To most Evangelicals this is a core issue. There is no compromised here. I guess if the dems nominated a Klansman it would be the African American’s fault if they did not vote democratic and caused a Republican to be elected.

Any time the NY Times examines an issue dealing with Christians, the agenda is clear...why else would they even give us the time of day. The NY Times is only interested in marganilizing the Christians or doing whatever they can to benefit the Democrats. Their agenda is very apparrent!

Drinking Coffee  "No matter how much you disagree with Rudy if he’s the candidate of the party and you sit out the vote, or vote for a third party candidate, knowing full well he or she can’t win you are in essence casting a vote for the opposition."

Gee, I was thinking that if you sit out the vote, or vote for the Republican candidate knowing full well he or she can't win you are in essence casting a vote for the opposition.  You do realize that if everyone that voted for G.W.H. Bush in 1992 would have voted for crazy ole Ross Perot, Clinton would have never had the chance to use Monica as an ashtray.

IOW, if you are so sure of your premonition, why not simply vote alongside these crazy people of principles and refuse the mullock Clinton her chance at glory.

What will happen if Rudy gets the nomination and THEN it becomes known that he is, say, a bisexual?

Shouldn't we worry about things like that?

That is a lie that if, God forbid, anyone to the left of Fred Thompson is nominated
we will hear over and over, ad nauseum.

Sometimes you have to pick the side you know is going to lose, just because it's the right thing to do.
If George Washington didn't believe that we'd still be spending pounds and drinking tea.

Then maybe the party needs to get its act together and stop promoting candidates that split the party, if they don’t want a good chunk of its members voting for the opposition.

Bull. If you sell your soul to a demon so that you win an election, the devil still holds the deed, FRiend.

You folks that seem to think winning, with or wothout principle, is all that matters don't appear to understand that the choice to not vote or to vote away from the Republican party is a matter of conscience for some. It is a matter of sin. In this context, avoiding the sin of commission is what is important to many.

So, instead of railing about the devotion to core values of those who will not support a New York style liberal Republican, perhaps you should examine why you find your own core values expendable.

No matter how much you disagree with Rudy...

The issues goes WAY beyond just supporting or not supporting Rudy.

IF the GOP abandons their principals, they will never regain them.

They might as well become Democrats.

Hey, I like Rudy. Nice guy. Strong leader. Great Mayor.

But I would have a real problem looking at myself in the mirror ever again if I was 'forced' to cast a vote for him as US President.
