I’m not aiding the liberal cause, I’m trying to maintain the credibility of the conservative cause. If just ONE point in this “expose” of how the Frost’s really have gobs of money is clearly shown to be false, then the whole thing will be ridiculed and the credibility of all the websites that promoted it will take a big hit too. It’s extremely unlikely that the family was actually paying $40,000 a year or anything close to that to this private school, and yet that’s being asserted as a “fact” here. If we can’t make an argument without fabricating “facts” out thin air, why should anyone think our argument should be taken seriously?

You're missing an important point.

The father's business probably can't stand a lot of scrutiny [especially if ears perk up at the IRS over this story]. This means that the parents are such committed Democrat activists that BDS syndrome has turned them into idiots.

It's not going to matter if one or two points of icwhatudo's rebuttal are wrong if the family gets shaken down by the government revenooers.

What WAS the father thinking?!!!?

I appreciate your efforts to maintain conservative credibility. I tried to do a little fact-checking for myself, and here's what I came up with. My starting point was the New York Times wedding announcement of the Episcopal Church wedding of Halsey and Gemma Frost reproduced on icwhatudo's original Frost thread. Halsey Frost's father A. Corwin Frost is an architect and works as the deputy director of design and architecture for the City University of New York. This seems to be an administrative rather than academic position. He lives in Bronxville, NY, a community that has a school called the Eliza Corwin Frost Nursery School. When I looked up this sorted-by-name list of Bronxville property assessments I found this:

Frost, Corwin A.
11 Sunset Avenue
Fair market value used by village $1,667,500

One may conclude that Halsey Frost comes from an affluent family of New York liberals. I don't think conservative crediblility is going to be damaged by this one.

I do understand the caution that you are taking and it is admirable and wise. One does have to wonder why neither the Democrats or the family have stepped forward to explain the two kids going to a $20K/year private school. The only peep I have heard was in an article by one of Senator Harry Reid's anonymous "aides" who said the kids were on a scholarship and paid only $500 per year. An anonymous source doesn't cut it for me.

Perhaps the family will step forward and explain. They definitely owe the taxpayers an explanation at this point.
