President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" – an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

No, becuase some “gods” are of human origin (really demonic orgin), and others are a perversion of the ONe True God.

Thank you, No.

"I did not know Masons were a fertility cult . I guess that would make them pro-life so thats good , right ?"

If sacrificing your first born for advancement in a cult is pro life...

So you are saying that God created Adam in such a way that he was incapable of resisting temptation. Sounds like he created an already Fallen human race.

I think this flies in the face of the whole idea of the Bible, which is that man DIDN’T have to Fall and that God and his Son rescued us despite our voluntary lapse into sin.

If Adam had no choice or free will in the matter, the whole scenario becomes kind of pointless, IMHO. A robot did as he was programmed. What a shock!

"Last time I checked, Jesus isn’t God."

You didn't check closely enough. He certainly is. Jesus is fully God and fully man. He is one person of the Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Jesus is God. The Holy Spirit is God. The Father is God. All three persons within the Holy Trinity are God.

Yes, I know all that. What I’m failing to see is where Jesus says, ‘I am God.

John 8:58 - “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”

"Although a good many around here seem quite convinced they have a direct line to God."

The entire purpose of Jesus' human ministry was to provide us with just such a 'direct line" to God. Otherwise original sin leaves us in a pretty hopeless position. "No one comes to the Father except through me".

The counter to your argument is that when Lucifer declared his five “I Wills”, he announced he would make himself as God to be worshiped as God.

This means we have been warned that there are some persons out there who seek to be worshipped as God and our false Christs, false gods.

Besides, Hebrew Scriptures go way beyond the concept of one person in the Godhead, as well as various meanings of Elohim, in reference to not only the one true God, but also perhaps a council of lessor gods who have been known to condone injustice, so with respect to men, there are more than one god, but there is only One God, Supreme, revealed to us as Father, Son , and Holy Ghost, all one God.

What authority did you check?

I ask because you have missed completely a VERY BASIC doctrine of orthodox Christianity.

Ever heard or read the word 'incarnate'?

My point is: . .. .
. .. . ...ALL Scripture cries out that Jesus is God made flesh!

What cult did you consult?

You most likely don't know the term 'Holy Trinity', either.

I doubt Ghandi originated the idea. It goes back a lot farther than that. It is endemic to Hinduism, in which all their many gods are just aspects or avatars of the One God. (At least in some aspects of Hinduism.) The same was true of the Neo-Platonist pagans in the later Roman Empire.

All I’m proposing is a little humility in proclaiming that WE know exactly who God does and does not accept.

He had free choice, you are correct, but becuase of our nature, (Yes I am beginning to belive God has the plan of salvation for the world from the beginning), Adam was tempted, and not being God, He did choose to sin, even though he had the choice not to. Granted the Devil tempted him, but that’s no excuse, Adam did it: Christ when tempted in contrast “The temptation in the Wilderness” Jesus did not succumb. Jesus resisted with the Father’s own words, and becuase He was perfect and knew already probably!

Sherman L, before thinking that “Jews also reject the Trinity”, please remember that Jesus Christ IS Jewish,...the King of the Jews.

Now, which perspective of the Trinity is more trustworthy? That of Jesus Christ, or that of those who deny Him?

Keep it simple.

Place it in His hands and let Him guide you as to what is trustworthy. That is the very meaning of faith in the Greek.

“2. If you pray to a god and there is only one God then all pray to the same God.”

Unless you think God is your left elbow, or Sun Myung Moon, or Beelzebub, or any million other variations on theme.

If there is only one me, and you think you are talking to me, are you in fact talking to me? Not necessarily. I have to be there.

Bush has no religious sense at all. Even I know that Muslims pray to a demon. Geez, this country is going to be severely punished for this blasphemous conduct.

"Are we talking about those same guys with the motorcycles in parades wearing stupid hats ?"

A very small percentage of them. Most are in it for the schmoozing, like most other lodges and clubs.
