Heard something like this addressed on the Michael Baisden show (Good Show BTW) where he asked a guest about the phenomena where African college students in America (presumably subject to the same color based racism as American blacks) consistently do better than American blacks, even in historically black colleges. Obviously this is a bothersome detail. It was handedly answered by the guest who replied that the African black, even facing whatever they did in their country of origin, didn't have to deal with the effect of 400 years of racism that saddles American blacks.

So there you go. Its the white people's fault.

“So there you go. Its the white people’s fault.”

I know you meant that as sarcasm, but it really is the clinging to victim hood mindset, so they don’t have to be accountable, or so they think. I refer of course ONLY to those who DO cling to it.

By using this reasoning, whether this "guest" knows it or not, he/she has basically stated that these perceived problems are just in the minds of American blacks, and not caused due to "color of skin".

So the cure, according to this "guest", should be a change in mindset of the American black who has these perceived problems. But you know that is not what this guest's agenda really was supposed to be on the show.

So the guest is maintaining that conditions are better for blacks in Africa? Wow.

“even in historically black colleges.”

Times columnist and editorial board member Bill Maxwell kept a promise to himself, to become a professor at a small historically black college, to nurture needy students the way that mentors had encouraged him as a young man. His second year started with promise but ended in despair.
