Craig, Haggard, Foley, Vitter, the Oral Roberts U scandal. Jeesh.

The US might not deserve the Democratic flood they're likely about to get, but the GOP sure as hell deserves to drown in it. I've never been more disgusted with the Christian right than I am right now.

Everyone has demons and human weaknesses but this is clearly above average deviance for ANY group, much less one who spouts Christian morals.

That’s an awfully broad brush you paint with.

I guess you would have to include a whole bunch of Catholics and their church(a majority of them are Democrats) You should be disgusted with them as well, to follow your logic!

The list among Democrats appears longer. The mayors of San Francisco. Governors of New Jersey. Barney Frank. Ted Kennedy - remember "the sandwhich"?

Since you included also OR, there are worse characters among supporters of Democrats. Fore example, Lou Pearlman of the "boy band" fame who is charged with fraud and who went after young boys as stated in recent TV interviews by one guy to whom he allegedly exposed himself. Then there is the hypocrite Flynt who has been accused of perversions far greater than Craig's acts.

I’ve never been more disgusted with anyone who uses the word “spout”.

You have a point with Vitter, Haggard, and the Oral Roberts University. However, I think it is unfair to throw Craig and Foley into the category of the Religious Right. I could be wrong but I think Foley was more of a moderate Republican Congressman and Sen. Craig while running as a conservative (fiscal and social) was not particularily known as a Christian Conservative. So, yes, I do think we need to be more carefull to weed out hypocrites but I think a lot of the scandles are more accurately considered Republican Scandles than Christian Conservative Scandles.

Richard Roberts has not been one of the leaders of the Christian right; is he even politically engaged? Vitter’s a Catholic, not an evangelical. Haggard was showing liberal leanings, trying to involve the NAE with the Greens.

You better try a little harder, troll.

Christianity is most popular among people who desperately need it. It's like an addict needing a fix. People who aren't drug addicts don't have a longing for drugs-- they can see some coke on a table and just keep on walking by.
