NH did just that in 2000. Bush won Iowa and McCain came back and blew him away in NH only to see Bush then win Delaware and drive the nail down in SC.

Living in MA has its advantages, (oddly enough). If so inclined, we can head north and actually meet Presidential candidates, size them up in the flesh. They’re forced to talk to ordinary voters in small towns and even smaller venues, which somehow separates the phonies (Kerry, Hill, Edwards), from the real deal. If Fred spends some serious time in NH, he can win.
