Oh, I know how high the failure rate is.

A proper background check would have had detectives questioning his former girlfriend about his behaivor.

I’m all for background checks on LEO applicants. What happens now, is the city’s liability is exposed...not good for the taxpayers, but whatever it takes, they’ve got to fix that problem IMO. It may or may not have impacted this case, but it’s absolutely a wise practice.

She probably was not his "former" girlfriend when he was hired by the Sheriff.
