I agree, Kids who are 20 have a ways to go to get to another level of maturity.

Attending class in the Appleton area, every Tuesday, I have to walk by the class where they are training police officers. Young kids. They go outside for the class when they go into physical action, when one man is taking down another, the whole class hoots and hollers like they’re watching a football game.

It’s quite scary to walk past them to go to my own class, and it’s also quite scary to think that these young people are our law enforcement.

I’m just guessing but I figure they thought he might take hostages. Stuff like this only happens rarely. They had 3 officers for the town. Was that counting him and the dead cop? Maybe they were waiting for re-enforcement. Whatever they did worked though. This guy was surrounded. No one else got hurt and it seems they took him out when they got a clear shot. It may have taken a long time but they did a good job IMO.

The city only has 3 full time officers, but crandon is also the county seat so the county sheriff’s department is based there.

This couple has Eisenberg as their lawyer. The town/police force of Crandon is screwed.

The gun used was an AR 15

Who was the owner of the gun?

For this one 20 y/o there are many good 20 y/o cops.

Just like B-h ever body has an opinion, me I completely disagree especially those punk swat type. You should only be allowed to be a cop after four years of military duty.

the lingering question I have is whether the other officer involved in the shooting was the same alleged to be part of the reported “love triangle”?

If he had been a truck driver he could still have taken his shot gun and did this.

But you need to be twenty one to get a CDL. Because trucks are dangerous. But you can be a wet nose kid with a big gun and a badge. I think congress needs to take a look at an age requirement for cops.

From the link. The Kegleys coaxed Peterson, a Forest County sheriff's deputy and part-time Crandon police officer, into handing over his work-issued assault rifle - the weapon he said he had used in the slayings - and tried to calmly talk him into turning himself in.

I hope they sue the pants off who ever had a policy for this punk to carry around an assault rifle.

Somewhere around 2 p.m. Peterson walked off toward the woods. He got about 50 yards from the house and was shot, Kegley’s workers who witnessed the happenings, told him.

So another cop executed him, without a trial. Man they have a hell of a sheriffs office up there, how many times did they call 911. Out of the freaking world.

Danielle Marvin, 26, alleges she suffered internal and external injuries “as a result of excessive force used against her” by police officers for the city of Crandon and Forest County Sheriff's Deputies.

Welcome, from your link, I would say that these people will win their settlement hands down now. No jury would believe a thing anyone from those departments had to say.

This is one person’s version of the timeline. I’d like to hear what the official timeline is and hear the LE explanation. This is a very small community and sparsely populated area. It may take some time for them to gather the resources to secure a major crime scene as well as subdue the suspect.

Makes one wonder why we have so many stories in the news of police getting out of control the past few years. Maybe the age at when they are being trained has something to do with it?

So, how many stories have been in the news in the past several years about rogue cops or cops going over the line with use of force? How many of those cops started out young and developed bad habits right from the start because they were either too young in the first place or poorly trained at that young age?

Read your link and it is not looking good for Crandon PD.

After the Mayor’s “gag order” and “lockdown” Sunday my smell meter pegged out.

At today’s presser I noticed how the last question asked was about the “hostage” situation in Argonne (sp?). Given the revelations about the killer being loose hours after 911 calls were made, I now understand why they didn’t answer the question and just about stormed out of the meeting.

There is a lot more to this story. Stay tuned.
