True, but they'd be happy to get it into the green zone as well. Lost in most of these conversations is that whatever the Israelis took out, it might have been a threat to our mission and our troops in Iraq as well.
E.g. say it was a bunch of nuclear slop, enough to make scores and scores of dirty missiles. Those could be used to shoot at the NATO fleet off the coast of Lebanon, the 5th fleet off the coast of Iran, against Israel, or in Iraq against us.
I don't know more than anyone else, I just notice that in this mystery people seem to assume that the threat was to Israel. I have no doubt it was, but if it was a threat to Israel it could just as well have been a threat to NATO, US, UK or Iraq or even the whole world if it set off a chain reaction of attacks and counterattacks.
