"This year, the Defending the American Dream Summit promises to be a massive show of force in support of lower taxes, more limited government and free-market policies that deliver the American dream," she said.

The foundation is a Washington-based group that has long encouraged Congress to eliminate earmarks, which let lawmakers add items to certain spending bills, bypassing the traditional budget process.

Sounds good.

Mitt picked up another endorsement today.

Romney gets support of NH anti-tax crusader

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Mitt Romney picked up the endorsement from New Hampshire anti-tax advocate Tom Thompson today.

Thompson, the son of conservative former governor Mel Thompson, has been a person that many Republican presidential candidates have wooed by visiting his farm in Orford.

His father was known for his “Ax the Tax” campaign. Most recently Tom has fought against a “view tax” in which some local communities charge more property taxes for properties with a nice view.

Yea, a wonderful RHINO of a congressman who is a big time supporter of open borders. You sure know how to pick them!

"On March 22, 2007, Flake and Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) introduced a comprehensive bill similar to the McCain-Kennedy proposal passed in the Senate in 2006, called the Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy (STRIVE) Act of 2007 (H.R.1645)"

I sure do! Hey, he may not be perfect, but he is no RINO (Republican In Name Only). Not sure what a RHINO is.....but I don't think he's one of those either.

Of all the presidential candidates who spoke at the summit, it seems Mitt got the most positive reaction from the audience of fiscal conservative activists. The comments regarding Mitt's speech at this summit are so positive they probably deserve their own thread.

Beyond just the embedded tax issue, he certainly hit the right notes from the perspective of improving U.S. global competitiveness -- making the Bush tax cuts permanent, eliminating the death tax, a new 0 percent tax rate on savings for low- and middle-class savers, and lowering the corporate tax rate. Like the other candidates, he noted that other countries are dropping their corporate taxes -- he cited the Irish model -- leaving the United States at a clear disadvantage.
