Would states be allowed to “de recognize” a NYstate DL?
Imagine if the TSA issues a directive to NOT accept NY IDs? All those over moused NYC reporters might be mistaken for illegal aliens.
Without question, this will destroy the owner operators/independents in the trucking industry. Certainly local trucking. They are finished. And, you’ll see the formal/informal hubs just inside the NY state border and the spoke (trucking within the state) will be by Pedro’s Pony Express.
For years all we hear was: “Driving is a privilege, not a right!”
Initially this was sold as to save New Yorkers on car insurance, so there would be fewer illegal’s driving unlicensed. WOW, so we save $1.42 each per year (or whatever -you know its peanuts). That was universally scoffed at.
This makes some fools feel good though until theres a new target fitting for deconstruction.
