I strongly agree. A few weeks ago in Ashville NC I found a biography and travelogue on Cretan archaeolgy (Dilys Powell - Villa Ariadne). Totally delightful and never would cross it except idling in a used bookstore. You cannot do that on the computer - surfing is far too linear, purposeful, and antiseptic.

I think exactly the opposite, that used bookstores, that is, the good ones, with comfortable accomadations, good location, and historic inventory, will increase in demand.

Barnes and Noble, and Borders, have the concept, but don't come close in inventory intrigue.
