The primary goal of the US should be two fold. First, to make it relatively easy for educated, productive and entrepreneurial Mexicans to get in the US in short order and to stay here a long time.

Second, is to make it as easy as possible to eject uneducated, lazy, welfare consuming and criminal Mexicans as quickly and permanently as possible.

This overall should be the objective of all our immigration laws. But it needs to be scaled up in the case of Mexico.

Then, the second half of this program should be to diffuse and integrate the desirable Mexicans into the US culture as quickly as possible. This means breaking up immigrant communities so that integration is not optional, and insisting on English language skills to remain in the US.

The longer even illegal immigrants have been in the US, the more obvious that this applies. If a Mexican family has been in the US many years and still does not speak English or have a typical education, or have had reasonable success in supporting themselves in employment, there is no reason for them to stay here.

However, if they have been gainfully employed for some time, have children born or otherwise integrated into the US, who can communicate in English, and who are not criminal offenders, there is no reason for them to go, if they can go through at least a pro forma citizenship requirement.

In truth, they are already at least half-American at this point, and better citizens than many who are fully American.

Of course they dont want them back....figure this one and do the math...
Take how many illegal immigrants from Mexico are in the US, Multiply it by the amount of money that the illegals send home from the US after not paying taxes here and taking advantage of entitlement programs.
The Mexican economy would suffer worse than it already does.

The primary goal of the US should be two fold. First, to make it relatively easy for educated, productive and entrepreneurial Mexicans to get in the US in short order and to stay here a long time.

First, to allow qualified applicants to legally enter the United States for as long as needed by the United States.

Second, is to make it as easy as possible to eject uneducated, lazy, welfare consuming and criminal Mexicans as quickly and permanently as possible.

Second, is to make life so unbearable for all illegals, who disregarded our laws by breaking into the United States, that returning to their own country will be a better option for them.

In truth, they are already at least half-American at this point, and better citizens than many who are fully American.

They are not half American and they certainly aren't 'citizens'.

I like it. If we were to start rounding them up and sending them to Darfur, the border problem would soon take care of itself.

It is not so black and white. I know several families whose grandparents are illegal, some of their children are legal and some are illegal, and their grandchildren are all legal.

Often, the children were born in Mexico, but were brought here when they were so young that they only know America, and have never been to Mexico. The grandparents speak only a little English, but the grandchildren speak only a little Spanish.

By current law, the grandparents and some of the children would be deported, costing them the family business, their home, and leaving the remaining children and grandchildren dependent on welfare to get by.

It would take the grandparents and their adult children on or about a decade or more living outside the US to get citizenship, and the adult children would be in a foreign country where they didn’t know anyone, and were unemployed.

In other words, this would ruin a successful, integrating family of hard working entrepreneurs, impoverish all of them, and cost the taxpayers a huge amount of money to support those born in the US for many years to come.

And this would accomplish what, again? I am hard pressed to see any value at all to such ruination, for a misdemeanor offense committed many years ago, and a *civil* offense of residing in the US.

If I am missing something here other than “I hate Mexicans”, please let me know.

I think you are missing th forest for the trees.

Its called legal immigration. As opposed to illegal immigration.

If you think it is only against citizens from one country you are wrong. There are many people from many countries here illegally.

It also called ‘rule of law’. This is probably the largest reason the USA is not like the EUM (Estatos Unidos de Mexico).

It certainly was not my unlawful acts that created this situation. Illegals who violate U.S. law should not be rewarded.

You couldn't accept that someone could disagree with you on this subject ... so you played the race card.

The Mexican government is giving its consulates in the U.S. wide latitude to ramp up a campaign to toughen their defense of immigrants and plans to give them more resources as well, officials familiar with the strategy said.

The meddling Mexican govt is seriously pissing me off.

The Mexicans need to focus on fixing the massive corruption in their own country instead of foolishly trying fill our country with their criminals.

America needs only new immigration legislation that will:

1) Secure our borders
2) Enforce existing law
3) Not contain an amnesty provision of any kind
4) Will improve our visa system
5) Must prosecute and fine those businesses which knowingly employ illegal workers
6) Must give law enforcement officials the necessary resources and authority to combat illegal immigration
7) Must deport illegal aliens violating the law after being fingerprinted, photographed, charged with a felony, and placing their information in a national database.
8) Send a bill for deportation/prison costs to the embassy of the illegal immigrant’s national origin.
9) 2nd time and thereafter repeat offenses by illegal aliens should be sent to work prison camps for a maximum of 6 months.
10) Must not give illegal immigrants government welfare benefits of any kind, including Social Security
11) Designates English as our national language
12) Change the 14th Amendment regarding birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants
13) Put pressure on the Mexican government and other nations to reduce illegal immigration to America.
14) Encourages only legal immigration and citizenship to for those wanting to become Americans.

These ENFORCED changes would strengthen America greatly.

After all, if they all returned to Mexico after experiencing life here they might insist that it stop being a failed state and emulate our success rather than seeking to distract their citizens with attacks on us.

“If I am missing something here other than “I hate Mexicans”, please let me know.”

You are WAY out of line saying crap like that. Who cares who you know?

Look, there are US citizen who go underground for years to escape justice. They know one day they might get caught and will have to serve their time.

It’s NO different for illegals nor, should it be.

Okay, how many Americans do you know who have gone underground to avoid paying a traffic ticket? The penalty for the crime of illegal entry is far less than for many traffic citations. And it is only prosecutable if you are observed illegally entering the US.

This leaves only the civil offense of non-citizen residency in the US. That is not a criminal offense. So criminality only enters the picture for other things, like ID theft. Having a false ID has only been a crime for a few years now. Before you had to take a living person’s ID and commit fraud with it.

Which means that calling illegal aliens “criminals” is just plain not true in the first place. Criminals are those who break felony laws, or maybe commit serious misdemeanor offenses.

All of this goes back to my original argument. If Mexicans living in the US are acting like good citizens, we should encourage them to become real citizens, making it easy for them to continue being good citizens.

They shouldn’t have to leave the US to do it. It shouldn’t bust up their family or ruin their business to do it. It should help them pay any due taxes and continue to pay taxes.

It should be a civil solution to a civil problem. Abusing the hell out of otherwise good people is not a good idea.

And the flip side, which I also pointed out, is if they are NOT good people, they should be kicked out with no delay, and banned from reentry.

Because that is the one, serious, and I mean very serious, immigration offense. Reentry after you have been barred from reentry can get you 20 years in prison. And I am fine with this, if they are real criminal scum, who come to the US to victimize people, belong to gangs, and take money and services from our government while giving nothing in return.

Mexicans in the US are either good or bad. And that is how they should be treated. Blanket solutions affecting both groups are just dumb.

“That loathsome country does not want to provide services to their peasant (mestizo) class, and moreover wants the revenue they send. Hell no they don’t want them back. Not while hey’re a burden in country, and a cash cow outside.
Our weak kneed government won’t call them on it.”

Mexico is declaring war on US citizens, and our country does nothing.

“Mexicans in the US are either good or bad”

Once again, the word illegal escapes you. You cannot be an illegal immigrant and not break additional laws, like identity theft, and credit identity theft.
