You are attributing something Kevin Madden said to Romney. Do you think spokesman clear each and every statement they make with the candidate before they make them. I don't. Major press releases - yes. Minor statements - no. Otherwise, why have a spokesperson?

You hire someone who you think you can trust to make impromptu statements on your behalf on ocassion. The campaign schedule is too demanding for every little statement to be discussed before it is released. Huffington Post caught Madden off-guard and not fully informed.

I think Kevin Madden made a mistake in this case. Happens to all of us (remember it happened to Fred Thompson and his spokesman when they didn't get the abortion lobbying story absolutely clear the first time -- and that guy no longer works for the Thompson campaign).

Romney knew damn well what was being said. Rush called his office and was told that this was Romney’s statement but that he would change it if asked. In other words he wasn’t going to change it because it was the right thing to do, but woudl change it only if he was AKSKED to do so. He wasn’t asked as of Rush’s show yesterday but he changed it later when he saw what a bone head move it was. Romney KNOWS what was said, he knew it at the time it was said and he has no excuse. My assesment of you still stands, you are a believer who refuses to see what a low life Romney really is.

He made mistakes alright.
1.)He gave the Huffington post an interview. Why would any self respecting conservative spend any time talking to those idiots.

2.)He answered according to what his political calculations indicated would be the most politically expedient thing to say at the time. He didn’t want to offend liberals.

3.)He obviously doesn’t know Rush or he’d know that what the Dems and thier mouthpieces in the media accused Rush of doing flies in the face of his character.

4.)He either doesn’t know what his boss, Mitt feels regarding other conservative voices like Rush or he doesn’t know how his boss would react to the controversy so he’s an incompetent boob. If he isn’t an incompetent boob then he was accurately reflecting Romney’s opinion which leads us back to the original problem. Romny abandoned Rush in favor of Hitlery Clinton’s propaganda organization.

Ergo, I expect that Madden's time has run out. How stupid do you have to be to try to pander to a pack of liberal scumbags at the Huffington site?
