Romney’s mealy-mouthed slap at Rush yesterday (through a spokesman’s statement to the Huffington site) has finished him off. Watch Mitt fade away.

Romney’s mealy-mouthed slap at Rush

I just read about that tonight and couldn't believe it. What a complete dolt.

He can't even get the facts on THAT right and he wants to run the country?

“Romney’s mealy-mouthed slap at Rush yesterday (through a spokesman’s statement to the Huffington site) has finished him off. Watch Mitt fade away.”

He’s degenerated into full fledged pander mode... Watching the disintegration of his campaign has been amazing. I remember watching those first couple debates, and being so impressed. I remember getting a chuckle over his more recent “Dr. Strangelove” Obama comments. But there is no consistency to him - he’ll say whatever it takes to make headlines, or try to attract a new group of voters in a way he doesn’t think will hurt him with the other groups.

His comments towards Rush were designed to get independents and liberal minded types interested in his campaign. But as he’s increasingly demonstrating, his logic is flawed. These people are not the ones who vote in Republican primaries.

He’s turning into John Edwards II before our very eyes. Voters see through the fake eventually - like I said, I was once wowed by Romney - and that has been one benefit of this long campaign season... Giuliani and Romney are losing luster that might have propelled them to the nomination in a shorter season.

I missed it. What did he say? Or can you direct me to a thread about it? I'm out of the loop, I may be the only one at F.R. who doesn't know what he said.

Fred and Rush vs Mitt and Huff vs Silent Rudy

"..Mitt on September 28 swallowing the Media Matters line hook, line and sinker and, incredibly, SENDING A PRESS RELEASE TO THE FAR LEFT HUFFINGTON POST WEBSITE:

"Governor Romney would disagree with the negative characterization of those men and women who serve with honor and distinction in the United States Military. There may be disagreements with individual opinions, but no one would ever dispute the fact that those members of the military who disagree with the war have earned the right to express that opinion."

We don't know if Mitt, like he did when he denounced Gen. Pace after taking the word of an MSM reporter slander of Pace on gays, simply and lazily, responded off the cuff or made a calculated decision to attack the most credible important leader of conservative republicanism since Reagan left the public scene..."

Not only does Mitt not have a clue, neither does his staff. There really is no excuse for this.

I’m sure Hillary will give him a minor post in her administration as a gesture of Bipartisanship.

He could still wind up forcing socialized medicine upon us. Or she might make him head of the gun confiscation division of Homeland Security, if she doesn’t give that to Rudy.

Yep, that was real foolish and shows Mitt is no principled person. If he were, he would know Rush would never say what he was being accused of saying. Rush is an ardent supporter of the troops on the radio and off.

Mitt should have given Rush unequivocal support.

Now he is a goner.
