Fred Thompson on Harry Reids attacks on Rush Limbaugh
Congressional Democrats are trying to divert attention from insulting our military leader in Iraq and pandering to the loony left by attacking Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the strongest supporters of our troops, yet Democrats claim he is not being strong enough. I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

Rush just repeated Fred’s statement, and commented, “That statement from the PRESIDENTIAL candidate Fred Thompson”—emphasizing the PRESIDENTIAL. :-)
You did good, Fred. Rush is going to win this situation and you’ve aligned yourself with a winner. Two winners, yay!

" Its not like Romney ever really had a chance, but that ignorant statement was the final nail in his political coffin " as running as a Republican for President of the USA.
Yes, we will see his poll number skyrocket down now after his non-support of Rush and our 1st amendment Rights.
And those Rommeny supporter who will just say this is only about Rush, your wrong, this is a frontal attack on yours and mine 1st amendment rights by Harry Raid and his thug gang in Congress. ( you just need another Hitler to take it farther down the road , let me guess ? Hillary ? ).

Of course, Slick Willard lied about Ronald Reagan’s pro-life record, so I guess defending Rush is right out....unless a flip-flop is in the works.

This entire thing is made up and a disgrace to every single person who buys into it. As a regular Rush listener, I agree with you totally. I'm proud of Fred Thompson for standing up so decisively, and I agree with Rush that it's an act of courage to do so. I haven't thought too highly of Thompson to this point, but his actions on behalf of a tremendous patriot (Limbaugh) have added tremendously to his credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Mitt really looks bad, particularly when contrasted with Fred.Yes, but Slick Willard's gymnastic skills are legendary, so I'm fairly certain a flipflop is in the works.

I guess defending Rush is right out....unless a flip-flop is in the works. At which point, the Mittwits will declare him the undisputed heir to Limbaugh.

I think Rush may have found his man. With that and the NRA very possibly comming out in his favor in the next few weeks (first time this early) this thing may just be over.

I suspect Romney hasnt done himself any favors with THE strongest conservative voice and leader today. No, he hasn't. Nor has he done himself any favors with some of his supporters. I am horribly disappointed at Mitt's response.

Romney distanced himself from Reagan back in the day.
Now he claims to be a fan of Reagan.
He has a chance to prove he’s a conservative by standing by Reagan’s heir as conservative communicator, and he distances himself from Rush.
Romney hasn’t changed one damn bit.
Thank you Senator Fred Thompson. You’ve confirmed my opinion you are the right guy to represent us as our Presidential cndidate. Anyone that doesn’t repudiate Moveon.org, the Democrats, Hillary’s media Matter and stand by Rush deserves nothing from the Republican base.

Uh huh..
Well we have seen NADA from anyone else, except Mitt of course, who seems to support Reid. So I will take a thought out 48 hour delay if that is what it is, over a stupid knee jerk or nothing at all...
Nice try though...

I’m sorry for your sake. I can’t say his response surprised me, but I know there are some like yourself that have a different opinion of him and this is unexpected to you.

“You can always tell a real Liberal by how they react when a circumstances arises that they couldnt calculate but must respond to quickly. Their first instinct is the liberal position.”
Absolutely true, read post 54, Fred’s response isn’t just supportive, it is a plain spoken, unhesitant, conservative’s statement.
