Fred Thompson on Harry Reids attacks on Rush Limbaugh
Congressional Democrats are trying to divert attention from insulting our military leader in Iraq and pandering to the loony left by attacking Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the strongest supporters of our troops, yet Democrats claim he is not being strong enough. I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

I was waiting for Rush to give one of his subtle signals, I thought that I had picked up on a couple before, but his disgust with Romney today is perfectly clear.
Oh ya, and of course Mitt will reverse his position at some point, it will be sincere and effective to his true believers.
I wonder if Mitt even knows who Rush is, Fred does, as usual Fred spoke his own mind.

Why are Rudy and Rommney supporters so quiet about the non-support non-defense of Rush by their guys ?
To: ejonesie22
Ironic, couple of days ago several were posting about Fred not saying anything. Now we have Fred taking the stand above the others. Nice...
Fred is a politician and will take advantage of any situation. Once he thought he was safe in his defense for Rush, he decided to take advantage of the situation for his own political furtherance.
Even Lesley Graham got into the act, a name I wouldnt want near mine.
I question his sincerity since it took him more than 48 hours to come to Rushs defense.
a. Maybe he had a memory problem and didnt know:
b. Fred hadnt heard or know about it until much later.

Why are Rudy and Rommney supporters so quiet about the non-support non-defense of Rush by their guys ? They were too busy hypocritically asking where Fred's response was. Now they are too busy wiping egg off of their faces.

You can always tell a real Liberal by how they react when a circumstances arises that they couldn’t calculate but must respond to quickly. Their first instinct is the liberal position. Thank you Romney for yet again revealing yourself a damn lib. You tossed Reagan overboard, and now you toss Rush. Telling the two greatest conservatives in modern history and you disavow both.
I suspect Romney hasn’t done himself any favors with THE strongest conservative voice and leader today.

Mitt Romney threw me under the bus
Somebody gave him the wrong focus group.

Exactly, In sports or war whenever someone is attacked there is a counter attack. With Bush he could have altered the phenominon known as “Bush-bashing” had he actually named names and went on the offensive against the loony left. His “I’ve got more important issues than these wackjobs” attitude is ok, but you have to have someone ie. Tony Snow at least start attacking the left back. We get a weak kneed response... Maybe they will see the error of their ways once a true Reaganesque conservative is in there, and isn’t afraid to put someone like a Nancy Pelosi in her place, and probably would have filed charges against her for her actions in Syria (aiding and abetting the enemy in a time of war)
To: Petronski
Sure is. I was out in the garden listening to Rush when I heard him mention how Fred and Mitt responded. Mitt really looks bad, particularly when contrasted with Fred.

Governor Romney would disagree with the negative characterization of those men and women who serve with honor and distinction in the United States Military. There may be disagreements with individual opinions, but no one would ever dispute the fact that those members of the military who disagree with the war have earned the right to express that opinion.
Romney's reponse is pathetic.
Fred is standing tall. Give em hell Fred.
To: kevkrom
It appears so. I knew I had seen several of them asking why Fred had not stood up.
It is really funny, since Mitt’s contribution was the opposite...

I like what Im seeing from Fred.I do too. I hadn't really thought about him much before. The guy who speaks up and tells the truth in a tough, straightforward way is they guy who's going to get my vote this time. I'm through with "sweetness and light" candidates. Thompson is not only right, he's smart.
To: trisham
Mitt really looks bad, particularly when contrasted with Fred. Well, that's par for the course, unless you're talking about hair.

once Rush notices this, Fred will have Rush in his corner supporting him and Fred will get the Rush listeners support
As wonderful as that would be, I think it'll probably take a little more than that to get Rush's support.

In a statement to the Huffington Post,
Romneys spokesman Kevin Madden
offered the following on Limbaugh:
Governor Romney would disagree with the negative characterization of those men and women who serve with honor and distinction in the United States Military. There may be disagreements with individual opinions, but no one would ever dispute the fact that those members of the military who disagree with the war have earned the right to express that opinion.
