Fred Thompson on Harry Reids attacks on Rush Limbaugh
Congressional Democrats are trying to divert attention from insulting our military leader in Iraq and pandering to the loony left by attacking Rush Limbaugh. He is one of the strongest supporters of our troops, yet Democrats claim he is not being strong enough. I wonder who General Petraeus and his troops think is most supportive?

I don’t like that one.
It always reminds me of the Robert Riech picture on Rush’s TV show.

Please tell me this is NOT the statement from Romney's campaign regarding the Rush brouhaha
It is news on the
democratic underground. Oh my. Sorry for posting a link that might give them more traffic than they deserve.

You’re absolutely right.
The key to the Republican nomination is to have Rush in your corner. This was a smart move for Fred, as well as being the right thing to do.
I remember back in August 1999, Millie Limbaugh, Rush’s mother was very sick in the hospital (I can’t remember if it was cancer or not). Texas Governor George W. Bush came to the hospital to visit with her privately.
Now, I don’t presume to know Rush’s thoughts, but I can easily imagine how this might have influenced Rush’s opinion of George Bush. In any case, when Bush and McCain were battling it out in the 2000 Republican primaries, Rush was firmly in Bush’s corner. (I’m sure McCain’s campaign strategy had a lot to do with it as well.)

Headline:
Romney Becomes Second GOP Prez Candidate To Blast Rush
At
tpmelectioncentral. It seems some of the libs are getting upset because Romney outmaneuvered them in denouncing Rush. To them, this was THEIR issue. They're mad now because Romney is attacking Rush and beating them to it.....surreal.

Now former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is weighing into the fray. In a statement to the Huffington Post, Romneys spokesman Kevin Madden offered the following on Limbaugh:
Governor Romney would disagree with the negative characterization of those men and women who serve with honor and distinction in the United States Military. There may be disagreements with individual opinions, but no one would ever dispute the fact that those members of the military who disagree with the war have earned the right to express that opinion.
I wonder if Glenn Beck will bring this up along with the fact that a company he founded is now working to sell the CHICOMS a key to obtain access to US Military Networks?
At this point I’d consider that candidate a complete Douche Bag

"I'm possibly being overly cautious. Rush has seemed to purposely stay clear of the Republican candidates thus far. I'd be pretty let down if he were to support a top-tier candidate other than Fred. I'd be the first to "high five" you if you turn out to be right." This is kinda off topic, but was brought to mind by your post. I remember when GWB was getting into the race for the presidency. Rush wasn't crazy about him and said something to the effect that GWB was an upstart, a silver spooner..things like that. One day GWB apparently called Rush and said he wanted to meet Mother Limbaugh and from that day on, Rush supported GWB.
The whole episode tained my opinion of both men, yet I continue to listen to Rush and twice voted for GWB.
That being said, I too would be disappointed if Rush got behind a candidate other than Fred.
