If the Bush Admin had brought Clark in, I’d question their sanity. We all would be singing a different tune as well...
“...thought you were at DU.”
Oh, so your point is we should have respect for high ranking military officers unless they say things we don’t like.
Hey Bunk-Surely you are smart enough to see a distinction. Petreus was an active duty general leading the war effort in Iraq when Mone On accused him, falsely, of treason.
On the other hand, Clark is a former general who decided to enter the political arena. Thus, he is open to the same criticism as every other politician.
Big difference.
Since you didn’t take the hint and are dumb enough to post that here in this thread, then let the flaming begin!
Yes.
LOL. That didn’t take long. Facts really are our friends.
There, that's better.
I love it! Our fighting guys know where Rush stands ..........They also kn where Harry Reid and his Ilk stand as well as Wesley Clark.
Hey Capt. Jake
A difference without a distinction. I believe ejonsie22 up above has it right.
BunkDetector
(Capt.Joe)
So no military officer is ever fair game for criticism or ridicule? How do you figure that? I’d hate to live in a society where that was the rule. Can you explain your position?
As far as his status as a general, bureaucrats and soldiers bother rise in the ranks.
I believe you are right. There is no way that they will be able to “bump” Rush off his own show, ..yet. The left is known for the one piece at a time approach.
You have got it.
Communists are very predictable. They can’t stand the idea that El Rushbo could tell people the truth between now and the impending coronation of Queen Hillary.
General Petraeus is not and has not...big difference.
One is a lie, one is not.
Clark is a political operative now, not a military man, and is on the wrong side of the issue, mainly out of self interest. He has made his bed with those who demoralize our troops and call them thugs and Nazis and worse. He has no honor and has abdicated his right to speak as a leader of men.
General Petraeus is serving actively in our current efforts, and has the respect of his men. To degrade him public is the true betrayal, and it comes from your merry band.
There is a tremendous distinction.
Sure they are.
But either it’s wrong to use “criticism and ridicule” regarding both Generals or it’s OK in both cases. Rationalizing why it’s not OK to trash “my guy” but it IS ok to trash “your guy” is ...rationalizing.
Honestly, I personally don’t think a general officer should be “ridiculed”. I don’t think anyone should be. It churlish and childish. Criticism, on the other hand, is something to which no public employee should be immune.
Jonesie22’s point is, I believe, that trying to explain why it’s OK in one instance and not ok in the other is bogus.
Gore my ox, you’re a moron and should be lynched.
Gore my enemy’s ox and and you’re a hero.
Duh. . .
Weasely Clark, phoney soldier. Clinton’s pet general. Screw you, weasely, the soldiers asked for 3 hours of Rush, and only get one.
