BFG Tech

I am writing this to give some kudos to a company for outstanding service. While it is easy to offer claims of lifetime warranties and 24/7 service when trying to sell a product, too often a consumer finds that those claims are well neutered by fine print and long wait times to call centers based in exotic places with names like Bangladesh and Mumbai. Once you do get through there comes the  game of twenty questions which you must indulge in order prove to the person on the other end that you are not an idiot or a criminal and that you did not do something to invalidate the very delicate "Lifetime Warranty".  How pleased I was to find a company with a Lifetime Warranty that not only exceeded the average lifespan of the common housefly but one  that was still good 4 years after the original purchase.

The Rock knows the meaning of BFG

The company I am referring to is BFG Technologies. (http://www.bfgtech.com/) Those of you who are gaming enthusiasts may recognize the "BFG" portion of the name and for those who don't and wish to be enlightened you can visit http://www.gamers.org/docs/FAQ/bfgfaq/#1B for a detailed description of the acronym. That said, my dealings with BFG Tech began when I purchased one of BFG Tech's 6800 GS OC AGP video cards 4 years ago. It functioned flawlessly allowing for many hours of fragging and eye candy until last January when the memory chips went bad and the screen appeared to have been eaten by strange system characters many which blinked incessantly. I attempted to troubleshoot the problem and verified that it wasn't software related or something wrong with other parts of my computer. I then called up tech support at the 24 hour support line and not only did I get a person who spoke flawless English but also one who after I explained what was wrong quickly within minutes had issued me an RMA so that I could return the card for replacement.

I sent the card in and within a week I had another and popped it in. I was a bit disappointed when after a week this card also failed. I called back and was told I should replace my power supply and that if that didn't work then to call back and get another RMA. I had a another video card so I waited a few months and then finally got around to replacing the power supply. This didn't fix the problem so I called them back and got another RMA and sent the second card back. Last week I received not only a replacement card but a new 7800 GS OC card which was released at the end of last year! Now that is what I call service. While I can not speak for everyone as to the quality of the service they receive, BFG Tech has more than won me over as a loyal customer. I do not mind paying a premium price when it comes with such a great warranty combined with top of the line performance. If you like being treated like a valuable customer rather like some kind of chump who has money to burn then BFG Tech is certainly a company you should consider purchasing from. -Mael

My current 8800GT is a BFG. I’m glad to know that they have good customer support, and come through on their promises of a lifetime warranty.

Also glad to know you got a new card from them. The 7800 is very nice.

They make a good product. I just put their little sticker over my reconstructed Monster, including a 6200 series GC. They are building a product that can keep up with the ambitious Vista, however clunky that OS is, it demands faster more powerfull peripherals and modules than most vendors are scrambling to deliver. This vendor is keeping up, for the moment, with the state of consumer demand (even with XP and standalone gaming systems) for faster, more realistic scenarios in simulations and for Customer Service.

They and their partners NVIDIA are keeping up with the flaws in certain OS's with exceptional firmware and soft driver updates.

Let's hope they don't get bought up.

I have yet to upgrade to a PCI Express system so until then the 8800 series is out of my reach being that new releases for AGP are pretty much dead.

It was a really pleasant surprise to receive the new card and I didn’t have to lie, threaten, or anything. lol
