All municipal office position races in Texas are non partisan. I agree that the offenders are prolly Dems, though.
Also, I heard on the radio yesterday that Dallas pays their Councilmen $38K per year. Even though it is supposed to be a part-time job (7th largest city in the country ... yeah right) all $38K/year will attract is bottom-feeders with nothing better to do while looking to line their pocketbooks. I spewed coffee this morning when I saw the word "Democrat" as the first word of the subtitle in the Austin Rag.
