Supporters of presidential candidate Ron Paul say they brought their "shock and awe" sign campaign to Chattanooga Cleveland area roads over the weekend.

Lauren Walker of the Paul campaign said, "You have probably noticed “Ron Paul Revolution” and “Ron Paul 2008” signs and banners everywhere.

"In the wee hours of the night and early morning on Friday and Saturday, bands of Ron Paul supporters were roving the streets of Hamilton County hanging banners and signs in a concerted effort to let people know about their candidate, Ron Paul.

"These young, inspired, patriotic Ron Paul supporters call this event 'Paint the Town Ron,' claiming a media blackout on Republican Ron Paul has forced them to use 'shock and awe' techniques like these.

Chris Holley, is founder of www.PaintTheTownRon.com and organizer of the thousands of “Paulites” taking part in the national grassroots event in over 80 cities across the U.S. He said, “It’s the only way the public will find out about the man people are calling ‘Modern-Day Founding Father.’”

He said after the May 5 Republican Debate, Ron Paul became the most “Googled” and most “Yahooed” (search engines) person for two months, May and June, 2007. And he said he is the most “YouTubed” presidential candidate of all time. Mr. Holley said, "He’s winning all the internet and call-in debate polls. People listen to the debates and tell us he’s the only candidate that makes sense. What he says is American and wholesome. And America is waking up to the opportunity to vote for a 'Founding Father' candidate after years of having a choice of the lesser of two evils."

We will make videos of the event and post them to youtube. This is one step in the fight against the Main Stream Media's blackout of Ron Paul. We hope not only to make local news for our groups, but possibly to make national news as well.

  This event is taking off to a nation wide level ! If just have 100 meetups do it across the land then there is NO way the Media can ignore us and we will show them that we may started on the internet, but now have it taken to the streets and there will be no stopping us!

I think the top candidates don’t need the name recognition or media attention. It would look desparate.

And since there are negatives involved, the risk of making people upset would outweigh the negligible gain.

It is my understanding that these paint the town Ron events are illegal.

If so then why is it ok for all of us (Ron Paul Supporters) to break the laws and when our opponents do something illegal, we cry foul and question their integrity?

I mean think about it, at the end of the day most of us here support Dr. Paul for his honesty and integrity in a world of such corruption. (That is what makes him different than the others, right?)

Even though we do not agree with each other on many things, we stand together and fight for justice, the American way of life and the rule of law. (The Constitution.)

It may be against some city codes, but it is protected under the constitution.
