Not the Howie Carr Show live thread for the week of Oct 1. This was supposed to originally be the day Howie was to debut on WTKK. As the Sept 19 deadline got closer there was speculation he'd debut on 96.9 on Sept 20 but a judge's ruling has delayed it. A judge ruled that while a non-compete clause was not valid, a "right to match" was. Now while Entercom claims they have the rights to Howie for the next 5 years, Howie was been sitting it out, refusing to report for work. Listeners have been getting Todd Feinburg. It's NOT the Howie Carr Show, despite what WRKO tells you.
Appeals are in motion and a meeting between the various parties is expected on Oct 15.

Is it me or is the redesigned BostonHerald.com terrible? I’ve given it a few weeks, but I hate it.
I hate to say it, but the Globe has a much more user-friendly, cleaner design to it.

And now Howie’s on jury duty, according to Sandy.
At least they’ve actually started talking about him.
I heard that too...I only tuned in for a couple minutes around
chumpline time. I think this means Howie is meeting with
his lawyers.
Shortly before he left WRKO, or at least stopped doing shows,
he said he would be out a certain day due to “jury duty”.
Afterwards, he admitted “it wasn’t really for jury
duty” but I’m thinking “jury duty” is a reference to
meeting with lawyers, etc.

b) to check out any news about Howie (sometimes via
blog items by Jessica Heslam, aka “Howie’s secretary”.
That nickname came about when she started to release
details about him leaving for WRKO...it almost seemed
like he was speaking through her...

Howie should guest-host for Rush. That would be a hoot. The Condo’s only a hop-skip-etc from Southern Command, after all... That should tweak a tail at RKO, which, of course, is why it won’t happen, I guess...
He should, yes, and I’m surprised he didn’t years ago. But I wonder if his making fun of Rush during the doctor shopping scandal (Talent on Loan From Oxy Contin!) might make them
think twice..
