Let's hope Julie T does better this time around. Last time she tried to counter the Russian gas price increase with local price fixing. The completely predictable result was a severe gas shortage. She wasn't very popular when Yushchenko fired her.

What a campaigner though.

No grounds for re-voting – Shapoval

There are no grounds for any re-voting, Central Electoral Commission chairman Volodymyr Shapoval claimed to a press conference today.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, asked whether the outcome of the early parliamentary election of 30 September may be declared invalid in the electoral districts, the results in which are not known as yet, V.Shapoval stressed: "We are living in a real world, and not in the world of Harry Potter".

According to him, there are no grounds to surmise that the situation in these electoral district may cardinally differ from the districts, the outcome on which is already known.

V.Shapoval noted that, at present, four electoral districts have not submitted their protocols as yet: #29 (the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast), #205 (the Cherkassy Oblast), and also two districts from the Donetsk Oblast.

According to the CEC chairman, their explain that they have not received as yet protocols from all their polling stations.
