I honestly do not see the Christmas tree as a Religious symbol, and there are a couple of reasons for that: A) The tree was a Pagan symbol to help ease the Heathens into Christianity, B) Christmas has become so commercialized that it hardly resembles anything religious unless you put out a nativity scene.

With the "Under God", it seems like such a simple compromise to not say it if you don't want to.

I don't get bothered by the typical Christian, because from the many Christians I know I get a "Live and Let Live" type of attitude that doesn't feel like anything is forced, it doens't feel like I'm being placed under attack. The type of Christian that bothers me is the one who tries to get rid of Halloween in the schools, who goes outside of High Schools with pictures of Aborted Babies, the one who tells children they are going to hell because they like "Harry Potter". That seems like they are forcing their beliefs onto others, and that is what I disagree with.

You are under attack from the world, the flesh, and the devil 24/7. I don't hear you complaining about that.

It is muslims who are seeking to have Halloween tossed from public schools right now.

Illinois Schools Canceling Christmas and Halloween to Avoid Offending Muslims (Sep 28, 2007)

Better to have lessons about fisting, condoms, oral dams, etc in high school than to wake up to the REALITY that a fetus is a growing human being?

There is a scientific level at which life begins. It is not a "belief". Now you can say that it does or doesn't have a soul and debate whether there even is such a thing as a soul but it is undeniable that it is a life.

The issue of abortion and "greater good" can be debated, but there is a definite (although uncomfortable) answer as to whether it is ending a life.

The Christmas Tree is clearly nothing but a religious symbol. It celebrates the substitution sacrifice that displaced human sacrifice.

It use arose among many different groups over thousands of years.

Those who believe in resuming human sacrifice (ACLU, their running dog lackeys, certain clergy) are very opposed to Christmas Trees ~ that's not an accident.

How do you "force your beliefs on others". Look, humans will believe what they want ~ never seen this phenomenon.

I think what you want is for the cops to come and bust anyone who pops up on the public right of way with a sign with which you disagree.

So, that would be forcing your ideas on them if that's what you mean.

We can get rid of the public right of way if it offends you!

I’m Christian and I agree. I don’t run into too many “Christians” as you’re describing though. You bring up a good point about nativity scences, those have been too offensive to display in NY schools, while other religious symbols get a free pass.

What I DO run into FAR more often are people that seem to have no boundaries or regard for others regardless of their spirituality. Frankly they don’t seem to have any morals.

I don’t care to have foul language shoved down my throat, particularly when my wife and kids are around to hear it.

Or so-called music that’s full of foul language, not to mention degradation of women, etc. etc. etc.

I don’t care to even KNOW, let alone be exposed to another’s sexuality in public, yet gay pride parades seem to be hellbent to make very private matters public at any cost.

BTW, just the mere WORD Christmas was removed from our children’s school calendar because it was deemed too “offensive”.

Las Cruces New Mexico came under attack from the ACLU because the name Las Cruces was somehow an affront to the so-called separation of church and state. (Las Cruces: “the crosses” has been in existence for decades).

I could go on and on...
