While this may very well be true of you and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of other Christians -- there is one big difference between you and Dobson.
Dobson is recognized to be the "public voice" of millions of Christians, in that what he says does represent the "mindset" of those other millions of Christians (and not that he "calls the shots").
On the other hand -- you simply represent (to the public and to the newspapers and to the other news media) no more than just yourself, and thus, of no importance.
SO..., while you may (or may not) be in the same camp as Dobson on certain political issues (like abortion for example, or many other Christian issues that carry forth to politics) -- it's only Dobson who is quoted and who is "recognized" in the news media, while you are a solitary voice, unable to get your opinions carried forth in any news media of any repute.
Of course, you would think that should be obvious to all the "thinkers" on Free Republic, but who knows...?
