It was when the GOP headed by persons such as Newt and Lott, Dole, etc started giving in to the Liberal wing of the GOP the losses began. By 1996 the GOP SOLD OUT!
The GOP had best stop listening to the words of Jerry Ford "Where else can they go" and start listening to the voters that can put them in or out of office. This will be the only way the GOP sees a win in the White House in 2008 or even significant wins in the houses. The GOP/RNC better wake up if not can you say Whig Party?
