That doesn't say much for the GOP.

As far as closeness to the Christian ideal, there is virtually NO difference anymore between the two major parties, and the RNC leadership doesn’t really care anymore.

Check Christian Conservative history era late 1970's and you'll see Christian Conservatives in both parties organizing for what was a political movement to change the face of national politics. Amongst one of the main persons behind it? A registered DEM preacher from Lynchburg, Virginia. An idea born on a phrase that Paul Weyrich coined and talked about to ones such as Howard Phillips, Jerry Falwell, Dr James Kennedy, and many more became a spring board for the Conservative movement within the Republican as well as the nation itself which lasted into the 1994 elections. It was when the GOP headed by persons such as Newt and Lott, Dole, etc started giving in to the Liberal wing of the GOP the losses began. By 1996 the GOP SOLD OUT!

The GOP had best stop listening to the words of Jerry Ford "Where else can they go" and start listening to the voters that can put them in or out of office. This will be the only way the GOP sees a win in the White House in 2008 or even significant wins in the houses. The GOP/RNC better wake up if not can you say Whig Party?
