In the past seven weeks, all
kinds of cool stuff has happened here.
And it's been so quiet.
Iraq is changing. More rapidly lately than we have seen it do in the last four years.

When I ask my son if things are quiet in his Area of Operations his comment is “extremely quiet.” They credit it to the Sunnis and Shiites who are working together (with our Army) to form volunteer checkpoints which have been very effective in keeping the IED implantations way down. He said the feeling when driving around, while they’re still vigilant and watchful, is very different than when they first got there about a year ago.
