I thought that statutory rape laws made allowances for guys who were only a year or two older than the underage girl.

Apparently not, in this state at least.

If this state doesn’t have a “Romeo and Juliet” statute on the books, I think they should do it now.

A 17 year-old boy and his 15 year-old girlfriend having sex doesn’t belong in court, let alone adult court as a statutory rape, IMHO. I don’t think that they two should be doing the deed, but adult criminal charges aren’t the way to handle it.

Dad needs to get a grip. Most dads in this situation manage to deal without beating up the boy, although I’m sure most have imagined it.
