It’s amazing how often people like that become rabid dogs as soon as it happens with their family. They usually crack the worst because they spend their lives putting on a big show of how their family is so perfect and above everybody else.

One of my sister's friends got pregnant at 15. The mother then forced her to tell her who all she knew was having sex. The mother then proceeded to call these girls parents and tell them. And it was not in the I'm letting you know so this doesn't happen to you way it was I'm telling you your kid isn't so great either.

And like you said, before this she had put up a big show of how great her family was and her oh so innocent daughter would never do something like that. Somehow she managed to block out the many signs that she was.
