Yeah but....what if this whole thing was the girl’s idea? You can’t attribute adult capacity for decision making to this kid with adolescent hormones...and ignore the girl’s possible enthusiasm for this also.

They probably are looking at them-selves and beating them-selves up over and over! You make the mistake of assuming though that these parents must have been such over-bearing brutes that the child rebelled out of frustration. Some times kids just decide to do their own thing and get burned for it, no matter how good and loving the parenting.
