There’s been a thriving market in khat in Brooklyn for decades.

Oh, cool. Now American cities can join the likes of Mogadishu, Somalia and other third-world hellholes. Civilization takes a giant step backward.

Philadelphia has a record high murder rate. Rates of other real crimes are skyrocketing as well. Why are police resources being wasted busting people who are growing and eating plants?

Qat use in America is not new. In many countries Qat is still legal.
Plus, it's a good Scrabble word.

Deport these KhatHeads. The US has enough drug problems needing attention.

There is always a substance people will use. Down here its
purple drank
I'm at the point where I'd like to see all the marijuana users let out of jail to make room for illegal aliens being held until they can be deported.

There’s no reason given by the DEA for making the plant illegal that couldn’t be given for caffeine and nicotine.
And yet, the DEA has the plant classified with crack cocaine and meth!
Oleander, Datura, Brugmansia, castor bean, lantana can be bought, sold and traded although they are deadly poisons. But try ordering poppy seeds to plant next to your St. John’s Wort, and you might get them, you might not. And the poor little old lady who sells them might end up in jail.

This stuff just bugs the dickens out of me. A plant that could grow in the back yard, should not be regulated, much less “illegal.”
