I have read it and agree with him as to the plain language of the Constitution. Unfortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court did not agree with him over 100 years ago. Even though a majority of the justices may now agree with Congressman BillyBob, the likelihood of them overturning such a long standing precedence is minimal. Given that the U.S. Supreme Court’s interpretation takes precedence over Congressman BillyBob’s (even if you and I agree with him that they are wrong) then any discussion is purely academic. My point is that rather than an academic discussion immediate action could be taken if congress had the political will and sufficient pressure to persuade them.
