It used to be very hard for diabetics to become police officers. My ex-boyfriend was told he would neither be able to be in the military or in the police, as he was diabetic. A friend’s ex-boyfriend (also diabetic) was told the same thing.

That has apparently changed. It seems the only thing we manufacture in this country anymore is criminals.

Whatever it takes to get that done is apparently okay.

Funny that you termed them ex-boyfriends...
I have an ex-boyfriend who was (is) a reporter, and a diabetic.
He threatened to kill me when I broke off the relationship.
He covered the cop/court beat area, so I just quietly handled the situation with private, personal resources.

Diabetes is a disease, not an excuse.
