Wagglebee, how many times do I have to repeat, “association” does not mean “causation”? (22 deaths have been associated with the tetanus shot, according to the VAERS site. We have antibiotics that will kill the tetanus bacteria. However, after the toxin shows up, there’s not much we can do but wait it out. The first person to live through lock jaw was in 1998.)
We’ve been giving multiple vaccines to babies for more than 40 years. Repeating MMR at 12, with a booster Td around that time. (I have much more concern about the MMR made with antigen particles harvested from virus grown in in human fetal cells than this recombinant DNA vaccine for HPV, by the way. And I really don’t like the chicken pox vaccine.)
The babies born after the vaccine don’t have any more troubles than is normal for the population.
As I wrote, the repeat paps, the conizations, not to mention the anxiety, the risk of infertility due to incompetent cervix, and the risk of transmitting to the baby at birth are worth the shots.
And you fully trust the clinical trials that Merck has conducted after the Vioxx debacle?
No offense, but the medical establishment also thought treating menopause like a disease was a great idea, too. HRT, anyone?
