You post makes many great points. Reminds me of a Contemporary Christian song I heard recently. It is called “Stained Glass Masquerade.”

Through Islam, and other high profile religious media people, fundamentalism has gotten a bad name. The fundamentals of Christianity have been overwhelmed by the creeping apostate belief systems. The most recent high profile case was when Clinton lied on TV in front of the world, was proven to have committed adultery, and wasn't the least bit repentant about it. His own church even had nothing to say about it. If lying and adultery aren't a fundamental tenet in your religion, then what good is it? The church at Corinth was proud that one of their members was in sin, and yet they were "tolerant" of it. That pretty much says where many churches of all denominations are today. One of the main reasons abortion and homosexuality is such a big controversy today is the 85% of America that says they are Christians are divided on the subject. I think most "born agains" would say that abortion is beyond controversy. If I heard of someone that was making excuses for abortion in my church, I would feel compelled to have a conversation with them. If they were not able to see how untenable their position was and still call themselves "Christian". I would recommend they leave my church.

When you come to Christ, He will take you as you are, but you must repent of your rebellion against Him and you should change your ways. If you come to Christ, but insist that murder is still ok for you or some others, then you haven't repented and you are still in rebellion. If I'm a drunkard and get saved, I may fall off the wagon, but I must still believe that Jesus doesn't approve of my actions. You can't claim Christ and still say fornication and adultery are ok because "everybody" does it. Just because mans law says murdering babies is legal, God's law should rule YOUR life. If Christians stood up for the fundamentals of God's Word, then the world would have to change instead of the churches falling to the world. An example is the Rockefeller Republicans have had to accept and cater to Christians in order to win office. If The Rockefeller Republicans are able to abandon Christian fundamental ideals, then the party will split and the Dems will win the next 60 years.

Just listened to my copy of The Altar and the Door by Casting Crowns. Listen to “Slow Fade”. It tells a story about how we don’t get saved and go out and immediately fall down. It’s more of a slow fade. Soon we find ourselves doing and thinking things we never thought we would do and say ever again. We need constant feeding because we are leaky vessels. People get caught up in the world, even in church and make excuses for things we shouldn’t even have to discuss.
