Race and minority hangups are held by the MSM and Democrats, who will probably lump ALL of the GOP contenders into the category of racist simply because the frontrunners didnt attend.
They will do this regardless of the GOPs sentiments of Were all Americans.
If candidates speak to certain groups, I dont consider it to be pandering unless they make promises to certain individuals based on whatever their group is. In other words, tailor their speech to fit each group.
I dont see Hunter doing this. His message and actions always seem to be the same. I dont know enough about the others to say that about them though.
The second tiers who are attending could use the exposure, IMHO.
Agreed. This field needs to be cut in about half.
Brownback has been in this race for far too long. Tancredo, I like you, but between you and Hunter, you’re too much alike, and I personally like Hunter better. Besides, we need types like you in Congress anyway. Keyes? Go eat a sandwich. Paul, if you want to continue your campaign, call the Libertarians or the Constitution Party. Cox? You can’t even get elected dogcatcher.
That leaves us with Giuliani, McCain, Romney, Thompson, Huckabee, and Hunter. Then let the games begin.
Joyner: Let’s give it up for those who are here... introduces Tavis Smiley.
Smiley: multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-diversial, yada yada... a nation lives as good as its promise. Pimps Cornel West’s book... screenshot of Cornel in the audience. Tavis was in Little Rock for the 50-yr anniversary... please welcome two of the Little Rock 9.
(Well, one of these days we’ll get to the debate)
“In truth this wont be a widely viewed debate, however it could be one of the better ones and Im going to tune in at least for a while. “
I hadn’t thought of that, but this may be a very interesting debate, maybe even a little explosive.
It is getting close to crunch time, Keyes is in the mix, and they are all probably looking for make or break moments.
With this list of candidates, and the expected audience, we may just see the gloves come off and every body get to the real meat of everything quickly, and then stay there.
You talked me into watching this one.
When is Fred gonna come out and play?
These people are incredibly full of themselves. It’s all about them.
Agreed. I do wish they did come to this forum. I'm watching it on the web, and so far, it's quite interesting.

I’m just waiting for Jackson & Sharpton.. LOL!
Michael Steele introduced.
Steele: each of us has a public duty to be engaged in ideas. Talks of Eisenhower (segregation not of the ideals of America). We have an opportunity to change the course of a nation.
introduces: Huckabee, Paul, Brownback, Tancredo, Hunter, and Keyes.
BS. This is an exercise in humiliation and ridicule for those who attend. The Reps should have boycotted this obvious Dem kangaroo trial. Tavis Smiley and Tom Joyner are Dem operatives. The crowd will groan or sneer as the Reps there do their best to pander. This will help reinforce the black audience that the Reps are bigots and racists. Ron Paul will be their boy because he will feed their "get out of Iraq" desires.
“This cant be easy for Duncan Hunter, he may not have the numbers but he really shouldnt be stuck with this crowd.”
It is BECAUSE of his numbers that he’s stuck with this crowd.
Huckabee starts the apologies and pandering.
Brownback now criticizes those who aren’t there. What a jerk.
From a man who shouldn't be there... kind of ironic if you think about it.
It looks like they’re going to give ALL of the candidates a chance to speak-I like that!
The big 3 are ducking the debate?
Well, thats just plain sad. I would hope we were able to move beyond such low brow tactics.
Yep. Totally gratuitous stuff. They shouldn’t be going before an obvious hostile audience and criticize their fellow Reps who didn’t attend.
The supporters of other candidates are bitter because there candidate didn’t bother to attend.
