This could be an indication of another illness (I can't imagine what). Amoebas are single celled animals, bacteria are not, they are essentially lifeforms neither animal or vegetable, with less than a complete cell (IMHO). Viruses are just packages of DNA.
Also, it’s been a long time and I could be remembering part of the initial diagnosis of bacterial infection.
He was my friend, not my friend’s son, and I was only eighteen at the time. It could have been described as amoeba and I could be remembering bacteria.
I do, however, remember the symptoms which are exactly the same.
I learned at that time never to put my head under if in stagnant water.
Stagnant fresh water is yucky. If it is over 80 degrees, it is a potential killer!
My friend swam in a pool that was so dirty the water was green and full of growing things.
He is living a charmed life. If I were you I’d take him to Vegas, and bet on whatever he bets on.
Except I won’t let him choose the swimming pool.
;-)
...glad I moved back to Minnesota.
