“I wasn’t aware of the fact that Slovaks were a different race than the English.”

No, they are not, unless they are Gypsies, which are looked on here as lower then the lowest black person in the US.

This is typical trash from an MSM paper.
They don't even know that the nationality is SLOVAK, not Slovakian, and this is NOT eastern Europe. It is the exact center of Europe.
I can’t imagine many, if any, normal Slovaks moving to the UK. I do, however, see many Brits moving to Slovakia !

Hey, you be nice to the gypsies down there, you hear? I don't want them to explore other horizons…;-)

Slavs hit puberty a year or two or three before Celts and Scandinavians. How would you like to have had a bunch of eighth graders dominating your fifth grade? Groups of these races are easily distinguishable. And then there are the cultural differences to consider . . .

Slovakia is part of the A8 accession group to the EU and according to National Statistics Online, Slovaks represent around 12% of the 500 people per day coming to Britain from the A8 states. . . . .

I can testify that this isn't all one-way traffic, since I myself moved in the other direction last month, albeit only for a week: when I was mightily amused to find that I'd been preceded by that totemic British institution of our times, the 24-hour Tesco. Have to confess that my motive for being there was to climb in the Tatras rather than meet Slovaks: but since half the population of the country seemed to have had the same idea at the same time (never seen such crowded mountains - Helvellyn on August Bank Holiday is nothing to this), had plenty of opportunity to observe the locals. Whom, I must say, I found perfectly charming and not much distinguishable from your average Brit, though a trifle unreconstructed in the matter of smoking. Since I gather that Bratislava has recently become a favourite destination for that lamentable British rite of passage, the stag party, I can well understand that the Slovak view of my compatriots could be rather less benign than I might wish it.
