The Thompson Effect.

Maybe, but I think people are starting to take a better look at the candidates and Romney is starting to wear thin on some in my opinion.

The Thompson Effect .

In this case, no. Thompson doesn't seem to be gaining ground in NH, at least not yet. It's really a battle of the RINOs at this time, with folks starting to tilt to Guiliani over Romney.

Looking at the poll, both Rudy and McCain have both increased, while Thompson went down 1 point, so I don't think the "Thompson Effect" explains it.

* Mitt Romney 23% (33%) *

Rudy Giuliani 22% (18%) *

John McCain 17% (12%) *

Fred Thompson 12% (13%) *

Newt Gingrich 7% (3%) *

Ron Paul 4% (2%) *

Mike Huckabee 2% (2%) * Sam Brownback 2% (0%) *

Undecided 9% (12%)

Maybe when he starts to campaign there more it might improve, but I really don't think him shunning the debates in favor of Jay Leno did him any favors in New Hampshire. I don't have any clue as to how much the others have campaigned there yet either, but I did see that Mitt was the only one to run commercials so far.
