Many on the religious right don’t understand conservative principles about the proper (limited) role of the federal government either.

They sure want to be a voice in the upcoming election, but what have they done to earn it? IMHO, not much.

Unfortunately, it’s also impossible to win the Presidency with anything resembling the positions advocated by the U.S. Constitution.

It is impossible to win without those positions, as without them one is without the Religious Right and cannot win.
