Even if you are Jewish, maybe you haven’t heard of the
Maccabi Games. If you haven’t, or if you’re in the hotel, restaurant or entertainment business, you soon will. The event is coming to San Diego next August, and it’s all but certain to be a good thing for young Jewish athletes and the community.
Some 1,500 youngsters between the ages of 12 and 16 will compete in the Olympic-style games, which will run Aug. 3-7 at various venues. The athletes will represent Canada, Israel, South America, Europe, Australia and the United States, 350 of them hailing from San Diego County........
