Granger (TX CONGRESSWOMAN) endorses Romney for president

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Kay Granger, R-Fort Worth, made an unexpected presidential endorsement Tuesday in support of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

The Romney campaign announced that Granger will serve as national co-chairwoman of the Women for Mitt coalition and will be a campaign surrogate for him.

"Governor Romney is a proven leader and natural problem solver," said Granger. "He has demonstrated the ability to turn problems into successes. As Americans, we need his leadership in Washington. He is the only candidate to demonstrate that he has a strategy to make America stronger by returning to our core conservative principles that have made this country so great. I am proud to join his campaign."

Romney, who has been trying to position himself as the true conservative in the crowded GOP field, is looking to Granger to bolster his credentials and support among women.

"She will be a powerful surrogate for our message of making our country stronger by bolstering our national defense, controlling government spending and strengthening the American economy," Romney said in a statement. "I look forward to her counsel and guidance as the campaign moves forward."

The way I hear it, she’s not much of a conservative anyway and just moves further to the left every year. She probably belongs on the team of a liberal Massachusetts governor like Romney. Let her go.

She made a giant leap to the left this year.

If he really said this....he's joined up with a RINO.

Kay Granger replaced Democrat Pete Geren when he retired. He was much more conservative than she ever was. Granger = uber RINO.

Kay Granger’s lifetime ACU rating is 85, one point below Fred Thompson’s 86.
